Although new technologies have their benefits, they bring massive change and disruption. That disruption creates problems for clients to answer. The role of technology consulting teams goes beyond just deep technical skills. It also requires business specialists that can see the impact that change is having on their organization and see what problems need to be fixed. Whether that is in manufacturing, sales, marketing, or supply chain.

Business change has been driven by technology solutions for years. It requires a good understanding of what that business problem is, and then converting it into how technology can be used to resolve that issue. Different functions include risk analytics, cyber security, data analytics, and tech enablement which is more implementation delivery based.

As a way to become more efficient, many companies implement Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). Some examples include SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, and Workday. The whole process of of technology consulting stems from a few basic steps. Understanding the requirements specific to the client needs, configuring a solution, testing the solution, and delivering it. A project could take around 9 to 12 months depending on the complexity of the client’s requirements.

Why are tech consultants in demand right now? In the era of big data and AI, more companies are choosing cloud applications over physical infrastructure. The technologies from previous decades are being dropped for newer frameworks. Tech consultants are helpful in those transitional scenarios as ERP companies do not have enough staff to implement their solutions everywhere. Abandoning the power of data in the year 2021 can cost you millions.
